Desserts is stressed spelled backwards!

Recently, I was asked to prepare desserts for a local cafe. I made a variety of dessert bars, cookies, cake balls! Below are some simple dessert bars, from left to right, brownies, oatmeal raspberry squares and lemon bars.
Pictured below are Nanaimo Bars (left) and cake balls (right). Nanaimo bars are a type of no-bake chocolate dessert names after a city in British Columbia, Canada. Cake balls are a decliciously moist cake filled truffle.
Baking and spending time in my kitchen has always been a great way for me to relieve stress. The next time you are craving sweets, take a look in your pantry, and crack open your favorite cookbook. You can always freeze your treats to have a quick dessert when guests arrive.

Happy Birthday Chloe!

My oldest daughter, Chloe, celebrated her 8th birthday over the weekend. We went swimming, had a few friends over for cake, and a sleepover. It was great. Chloe had the chance to create some new flavors with me for her cake as well. The swimming pool cake was a cherry confetti cake with a cherry vanilla filling. It was yummy!

The Shaw's First Anniversary

I this cake for a very dear couple, The Shaw's. They were married in Las Vegas in 2008, so they were unable to save the top tier for their first anniversary. The cake was one layer of moist french vanilla cake, one layer of devil's food chocolate cake and an almond mascarpone cheese filling. Thank you to Kristy and Vince for choosing me to help make your anniversary special!
